The location is excellent, literally by Castel Sant'Angelo with 2 minutes' walk to Piazza Cavour with many busses. It's a small family- owned business, good size rooms with comfortable beds and a desk, and a small fridge/minibar. Big bathroom with shower niche (which was not too large but fine for us). The rooms were cleaned every day. The owner Stefano was extremely nice, helpful and friendly, and so was one of the breakfast ladies. The other reception staff were friendly and helpful too. The room has a safe which was great. We didn't hear any noise from the other rooms but we could hear the reception if they spoke loudly on the phone, but it wasn't a problem. The hotel entrance is within a courtyard that is locked at night and on Sundays, but you just ring the bell and they will open the gate + the front door for you. Two pieces of advice: Take the sti Shuttle Bus from Fiumincino airport instead of the train to Termini/Trastevere. The Shuttle Bus stops right by Piazza Cavour, a 2 minute walk from the hotel and takes some 50 minutes. Secondly, note that Google maps has the wrong location of this address - it is on the upper right side of the pentagon that is Piazza Adriana, not on the left side as Google says! There is a sign on the sidewalk and you will find the hotel in the middle entrance of what looks like (and is) a large apartment building. All in all we thought it was great value for money and would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Though the rooms were cleaned every day to perfection, the towels were not changed for 8 nights which would have been nice. One of the breakfast staff seemed like she hated her job - she wasn't rude and she did her job, but she didn't even respond when we said good morning! The breakfast was nothing much but what you'd expect from a country like Italy where they don't have large breakfast. The breakfast area is very small as mentioned, so you would have to wait if you come to have breakfast at the same time as everyone else, but we didn't see that as a problem. The fridge was only set to cool at around 15 degrees so food wouldn't keep for more than a day or too, but I suppose it is only intended for drinks anyway. Also, a second chair for the desk would have been nice (there's just one).
I recommend this hotel for Roma vecation
friendly english speaking staff. best location. free internet on the pc in the lobby. good breakfast. cleaning everyday.
no or poor wi-fi in the room. rooms need some repainting of the walls. most of windows facing the wall of the neirbouring building.
Excellent staff and service, nice room, very clean, good location. Everything really.
Good and helpful staff, excellent location, free, high-speed, wi-fi internet
i cannot say anything bad
A very nice small hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and ample room. Good location, walking distance from the Saint Peter Square. Quiet place. Good breakfest for italian standards. Good value for money.
The breakfast area is quite small.
Staff (esp. Russian-speaking guy) should be more customer-oriented, hairs in bed :( poor breakfast in a very small area
Good location for the price.
Breakfast area is rather small and not really a standard Hotel lobby.
Everything was just great i recommend it to everybody!!!
I think I have nothing bad to say!!!
The hotel was immaculately clean and close to everything. The price was excellent. The staff was wonderful.
We liked everything.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. It was a very clean hotel with a charming complimentary breakfast. It was located in a very safe area.
The internet in our room worked well, the location was great, just between the Vatican and the ancient part of Rome. There was also a supermarket on the same street which was handy. Rooms were clean and quite nice for the price. The hotel was good value for the room, although it did have some small drawbacks, which perhaps is why this hotel was a little cheaper.
Well although this was a cheaper/budget hotel, it doesn't cost anything to smile...and the staff were lacking a bit in that regard. There were at least 5 or so different staff members working at this hotel, and only one or perhaps two were friendly and smiling. The rest didn't greet or say goodbye as we came in and out of the hotel, which I really noticed, since at all the other Italian hotels we have stayed in (Florence, Venice, Lake Como, Cinque Terre) all the staff were so friendly, jovial and every second word was "Prego" (you're welcome). Also some of the staff were a little casually dressed in trackpants behind the counter which I thought was a little unprofessional, even if it is a cheaper hotel. The breakfast was a little lacking, but to be expected for the price we paid for the room. The apples on the counter looked like they had been sitting there about three weeks though, surely it wouldn't cost much to refresh the fruit every couple of days?
Price/quality very good. Location excellent for our purposes and was the reason for picking this hotel. We stayed in the room for 3 people and it was large enough for three women :) One man in particular was very friendly at reception and their airport pick-up & return service very nice. And we were able to keep the room a bit longer than 11.00 as our flight left in the afternoon and that was so kind!
The breakfast for a Finn was a bit modest but sufficient anyway. And The small breakfast area worked out just fine as the hotel only have 11 rooms and not everyone was there at the same time.
The very good service en the very plesant attitude of the hotel staff.
The view of our window was not very nice. But for us it was totally not a problem because we only slept in our room. During the day we were in Rome.
Very helpful staff. Great location to visit Central Rome. Value for money wise top deal
Breakfast was poor and always the same, but this falls I guess under the heading value for money. Personally I would not mind paying somewhat more on the room for an upgraded breakfast
